Miner's Mud combines East Coast coffee with West Coast Mountain living, bringing you premium coffee on-the-go to fuel your adventures!
Owner/operator Kalina Whitelaw is originally from Nova Scotia and now calls Fernie B.C. home. She cultivated her entrepreneurial nature, an appreciation for quality ingredients and the value of supporting small business while growing up on her family’s maple syrup farm and restaurant deep in the Maritime sugar woods.
With a love for hiking, camping, snowboarding, archery - essentially anything outdoors - great coffee has always been a part of Kalina’s adventurous lifestyle.
When life gets busy and challenging, it’s good to slow down and enjoy the rich, mellow pause of an excellent cup of coffee. The smell, the feel, the taste of Miner's Mud coffee provides this mindful moment as well as the perfect kickstart to your day and whatever your adventures may be.

THE MAKING OF OUR LITTLE COFFEE TRAILER
Miner's Mud started out as a basic enclosed cargo trailer with a dream of turning it into a mobile cafe. Fun fact: due to the pandemic these trailers were flying off the lots and wait times to get one specially ordered was 30 - 40 weeks! We were very lucky to find our little beauty in Calgary.

We worked with Brothers Fabrication to get the trailer fully insulated to allow us to be open year round. They also installed our serving window and awning. The window we selected is actually a house window because we thought it was cute and it also has a solid seal to keep the heat in when it's freezing outside! We chose to go with a larger awning so there's lots of space for our customers to stand under in the case of a downpour or massive pow day!

We then worked with a friend/handyman to complete the interior work. We installed FRP panels on the walls, a ply-bead ceiling and flooring that was purchased second hand.

Once the ceiling, floors and walls were finished, the trailer was returned to Brothers Fabrication for plumbing, electrical and one of our favorite features in the trailer....the sink!

The final stage of modifications was finishing the trim, adding counters and installing cabinets (also purchased second hand).
